Can anyone use the Wellibus?
The pre-bookable service is available to residents who are unable or have difficulty using public transport. This may be as a result of age, disability or individuals suffering from mobility problems. We can also accomodate wheelchair users
Do I have to book?
Yes, in order to use the service you need to book two days in advance. Whilst we will endeavour to meet your needs, journeys are allocated on a first come first served basis so some flexibility may be required. Bookings are taken from 9.00am to 2.30pm.
Where can I go?
You can use the Wellibus to go anywhere in the town of Wellingborough including the shops, bingo, visit friends or to have lunch. In addition we also do a series of excursions to a range of places from a pub lunch to the seaside.
When does the Wellibus run?
The Wellibus Villager service runs between 8.30am and 4.30pm on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Zone 1 is Tuesday and Thursday only. Zone 1 villages : Finedon, Little Harrowden, Great Harrowden, Isham, Orlingbury, Hardwick, Sywell, Mears Ashby, Wilby, Ecton, Earls Barton and Great Doddington. Zone 2 however is for all three days (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.) Zone 2 Villages are: Irchester, Wollaston, Strixton, Grendon, Bozeat and Easton Maudit. The Wellibus Town service runs on a Wednesday and Friday.
Are times set or can I choose when I travel?
We will endeavour a time to suit you.
Where will the Wellibus pick me up?
The Wellibus will pick you up from your door, as this is a door-to-door service. We will then drop you at your destination, and pick you up later on at the time you requested.
Can I take someone with me?
If required, you can bring someone with you, or we could provide a volunteer. However if you do bring someone with you there will be a charge for this.
If I travel into Wellingborough, do I have to wait outside to be picked up?
No you can wait inside until the driver pulls up, the driver will then come and knock at your door to tell you that he is there to collect you.
Can I bring along my own wheelchair?
Can I use the Wellibus for Medical Appointments?
Unfortunately the Wellibus cannot take you to Medical Appointments, we do run a Volunteer Car Service, which takes you to and from your Medical Appointments.

How much does it cost?
To register for the Wellibus there is a £12 annual membership fee. If you are a holder of a Concessionary Bus Pass it is free to travel within the Borough. However if you are not a holder of a Concessionary Bus Pass, it is £1.60 per single journey for people who live in Wellingborough. If you live in the village it is £2.10 per single journey. We do accept National Travel tokens.
Can I be dropped off at one place and picked up somewhere else?
Yes, you can. But you have to inform the office when booking of where you would like picking up from and also what time would be suitable for you.
I can't manage steps very well?
On two of our buses we have a lift at the rear, in which we can help you board the bus with the help of our experienced drivers.
Are social trips organised?
Yes they are, there are 2 excursions a week to various places. Keep an eye out for posters in the office and on the Wellibus.
Will they take me to the pub?
